The Secret Garden & Dickon's Cottage

Two very special vacation rentals in the heart of beautiful downtown Mount Shasta, California.

Dickon's Cottage is a home of heart.  Care was taken to create an atmosphere of warmth and love - as we can imagine Dickon's home to be in the book The Secret Garden.   Dickon's Cottage is completely remodeled, and exudes charm in every way.  Dickon's Cottage offers original local artwork, and many special touches to delight.

The Secret Garden was designed with an eye for casual, elegance.  The decor is meant to create a peaceful, magical environment - from the original local artwork to the carefully selected library, to the silverware, much care was taken to delight.  In summer, the garden is bursting with color.  For those cooler evening we offer a wide selection of specialty teas from our local tea shop that can be sipped in front of the fire,  or on the covered deck.  We truly want your stay at The Secret Garden to be special.

Mount Shasta is an extraordinary California village in a most beautiful alpine setting.  Our vacation rentals - The Secret Garden and Dickon's Cottage - hope to reflect that special uniqueness.   Both were created while keeping Frances Hodgson Burnett's wonderfully magical story, The Secret Garden, in mind.  We hope to offer an atmosphere of artful magic (The Secret Garden) and heartfelt warmth (Dickon's Cottage) for your special stay in Mount Shasta.

The Secret Garden.

The Secret Garden is set back on Mount Shasta Boulevard, in the heart of downtown Mount Shasta. Its cobble stone courtyard and French Gardens give a feeling of privacy, away from the gentle bustle of the small town.  Private parking is in the alleyway behind the building.     Dickon's Cottage is directly across the alley from The Secret Garden.  The two buildings can be rented together, or separately.  They offer total privacy from each other.
